Maryland Farm Wedding – Briana & John

In October I got to photograph Briana and John’s Maryland farm wedding. Weather in the fall is always hit or miss. It ended up pouring all day, but we lucked out and had one of the prettiest sunsets of the season!

Briana and John met in 2018 on the dating app Hinge.  They lived over an hour apart, but they travelled back and forth to see each other. John officially asked Briana to be his girlfriend when they went on a camping trip to his family land in West Virginia. She told me that it was the first time that she got to meet his siblings and friends. On the first night of the trip, it was pouring outside so they stayed in the tent. While they were talking, he got really serious and asked her to be his girlfriend. It is a place that has always been special to him and now it is a somewhere that they both hold dear.

Fast forward a few months and Briana was moving up to Maryland to be with John. In 2020 they bought a home together and they spent most of the year fixing it up together. On their second anniversary, John proposed to Briana while they were hanging out at home. She recalls that they had no plans and she was just picking up a few things. When she stopped to look out the front door, she turned around and he was down on one knee.

The two of them have had a lot of fun building a life together. They enjoy traveling to new places, camping, kayaking, and hiking together. Their favorite adventure was to the Hoh Rainforest near Seattle. They plan to go back one day and they also can’t wait for all the other adventures ahead. In addition to their trips they also love spending time with their two fur babies!

They celebrated their wedding day surrounded by friends and family. Many of their guests travelled from Missouri to be with them that day. They told me that the only thing that mattered to them about their day was family, friends, and celebrating their marriage.  I’m so glad that I got to be a part of their day. Here are a few favorites from their beautiful, Fall, Maryland farm wedding.
