This week we met Joey in Maiden, Montana for his senior pictures. When I talked to his mom, Kae, she mentioned that we were going to be doing photos on family land. Little did I know that their family land is actually what is left of a historic gold and silver mining town! I have always loved exploring the historic sites around the state and so it was pretty awesome to get to do ghost town senior pictures!

In 1895, Joey’s great, great grandfather George Wieglanda, “Grandpa Wiggie,” went to Maiden and spent his lifetime mining there. Over time he patented several mining claims and homestead grounds which he left to his decedents.

During our session we hiked up the old logging trail to one of the old mines. We also used a lot of the old homestead and ghost town settings. I could have spent all day there; the options for backgrounds seemed never ending! It was really nice getting to meet you two! Thank you both for hanging out with me last night! I’m so glad that you came up from Colorado to do your photos!
Here are a few of my absolute favorites from Joey’s Montana ghost town senior pictures.
