Last year, the timing was perfect, and I happened to be in Montana at the same time as Kaity and James! We got to hang out for their engagement session in Maiden, Montana which is an old mining ghost town! Their session was a lot of fun and I really loved getting to know them. It was a surprise when they asked if I’d come back to capture their Three Forks, Montana wedding at the Sacajawea Hotel. It was definitely an easy yes!
Kaity and James’ day was absolutely beautiful and I am so happy that I got to be a part of it! The weather was perfect and they lucked out with cloudy skies that helped cool off their ceremony at the Wheat Montana Ranch. Kaity and James had family and friends come from all over the country to celebrate with them.
The two of them are great together and their happiness shows! They both are excited to start their lives together and they cannot wait to raise a family in the Big Sky State one day.
Saying that I took a lot of photos on their day is an understatement. It honestly was next to impossible trying to narrow it down to share a few favorites from their Three Forks Montana wedding!
Their Love Story
James and Kaity met at the end of March in 2018. James was finishing up his last semester of undergrad at Montana State University. He was visiting his hometown, Great Falls, for the weekend to spend time with some buddies. Kaity was teaching kindergarten in Lewistown, Montana at the time. She and a friend went up to Great Falls for the weekend to attend the Electric City Brew Fest in the “big city”. Mutual friends introduced them. Kaity gave her number to Jimmy over a beer at the event. They met up at a bar after the Brew Fest where one of Jimmy’s friends said “I’ll be at your wedding one day.” And here we are. Kaity and James made the drive from Lewistown to Great Falls often and, without fail, every time they got to the Stanford gas station Kaity said, “I can’t wait to tell our kids one day that I almost turned around at this gas station and never met you.” The roads the day they met were horrible, complete white out snow conditions. Thank goodness she didn’t turn around or this classic “met at a bar” story would have never come to be! James proposed on June 25, 2020 and they tied the knot on July 2nd, 2022. Congratulations Kaity & James!
