I first heard about the Wellsville Frontier Days rodeo last year. I had just been to the J Bar W Ranch Battle of the Beast for my birthday and I wanted to go to another rodeo. With having a jam packed wedding season last year, I knew I wouldn’t have many more open days. It was spur of the moment and I decided to go check it out!
The rodeo grounds were set back in a little town that much reminded me of Belt, Montana. Growing up out there, I had been to the Belt rodeo a few times and so I liked the feeling of familiarity.
The Wellsville rodeo drew in a huge crowd. Just like most rodeos it was a great family friendly event. People of all ages were gathered with their friends and family to watch the rodeo.
It was a beautiful day and I had a lot of fun getting to capture some of the action that took place. Plus, the level of talented that competed at the Wellsville Rodeo made it a very exciting event! Taking these pictures rekindled that spark that I always had for rodeo photography.
