On October 17th, 2017 Robert and I got married at Wyndridge Farm in York, Pennsylvania. Being a fall wedding we decided on a color palette of Sangria, Blueberry, and Moscato with accents of Copper. Tied together with the rustic elegance of Wyndridge Farm, everything was so lovely. In addition it was a warm, sunny, fall day and we were surrounded by our closest friends and family. Having everyone together on our wedding day meant so much because we wouldn’t have been able to truly celebrate without them there! The intimate aspect of the day was really nice.
Since we wanted an intimate wedding we had a small bridal party. My maid of honor and cousin, Kara is like a sister to me. She has been one of my best friends since I was a child. She also is the culprit who got me to download Plenty of Fish and so in turn she helped me meet Robert!
Robert’s best man, was my little brother Josh. It meant a lot that Robert asked him to be a part of our big day and it makes me so happy that my husband and my brother are close.
Also part of our wedding party were my bridesmaids, Brooke and Julia! Brooke and I grew up hanging out and we became friends at a young age. I was especially happy that she was a part of our bridal party because Brooke’s mom was a bridesmaid at my parents’ wedding! Julia and I have been friends since 10th grade. We hung out nearly every day in high school. Even after she moved away for college and then again for work she has always remained one of my best and truest friends.
Robert and I couldn’t have asked for a better day; it was everything that we had been envisioning since we started planning. I genuinely have to say, no matter how cheesy, it was the perfect day to start the rest of our lives together.
Planning Our Wedding
So How Did We Plan Our Pennsylvania Wedding From Montana?
Because we live in Montana we did a lot of our planning online. (Fitting since that is how we met.) When we started planning for our wedding the first vendor that we booked was our amazing photographer, Julie Paisley. Her work spoke for itself and I knew that I couldn’t book with anyone else. Because of that we even made a roadtrip to Nashville, Tennessee just to meet her!
We knew that we wanted a rustic venue, but we also wanted the day to have an elegant feel. Wyndridge Farm definitely embodied both. Upon finding the venue we instantly fell in love. Even though we knew that we couldn’t make it in for a tour until the week before the wedding we had to book with them.
After booking with Wyndridge Farm we talked to them about their preferred vendors. Through that list we found our Pastor, Dave DiRaddo and our baker, The Baker’s Table. We found our florist, Petals With Style, by searching Instagram tags for the York area.
For hair and makeup we teamed up as a family for the day of. My Aunt Julie, who works at Aaron Robert Salon did all of our hair. My mom, Kim, did all of the makeup for my bridesmaids and my grandmothers and I did my own makeup.
When it came down to details, Robert and I spent part of the summer hand-crafting a lot of our pieces. We made the leather name tags and the wooden table signs. In addition to that Robert even made the anniversary box for our wine and love letters! Wyndridge Farm helped us decorate the day of to relieve some of the pressure. By adding the detail pieces in with other accents that we collected and decorations of their own they really helped bring everything together!
Planning A Destination Wedding Requires Research
With being unable to meet most of our vendors until the week before the wedding we spent a lot of time researching. However, the hours of searching online portfolios, reading client reviews, and phone consultations were worth it. In the end we were confident with our decisions and on the day of we honestly couldn’t have been any happier with our vendor team! I could go on and on, but when it all comes down to it we really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. I am so grateful for everyone who was a part of it and I am also thankful that my family got to be there for such a big time in our lives.
